Description: [T]he following credentialing standards procedures [...] promote defined goals in agency eligibility determinations to issue HSPD-12 personal identity verification (PIV) credentials for access to federally controlled facilities and information systems: the protection of the life, safety, property, or health of employees, contractors, vendors or visitors to Federal facilities; the protection of the Government's physical assets, information systems, records, including privileged, proprietary, financial or medical records; and the privacy of the individuals whose data the Government holds in its systems.
